Eggs are a protien, and therefore fall under the "meat and meat alternatives" food group!
Recomended daily intake is 2 - 2 1/2 portions of meat/ alternatives daily! that includes pulses, red meat, fish, white meat, eggs

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which can be used for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out far too soon. Some are rocks, many are wrong. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

surprisingly it comes under dairy - though you could still eat them if you were not allergic to them, but allergic to cow's milk, cheese etc.
They are also a good source of calcium, protein.
