I am the oldest of 6 kids and no longer live at home but my 5 younger siblings still do. It breaks my heart everytime i go over there becuase i had everything growing up and since my step dad has been laid off and between jobs the last 5-6 years they have almost nothing now. They live in a mobile home that is falling apart due to water damage and wear and tear of 6 kids. All i want for christmas is for them to have a new home, i just have no idea how to make it happen or who i could turn to. I know habitat for humanity needs a good credit score to qualifty which my parents dont have. They are trying to get back on there feet but in the situation the are in it all seems so hopeless. Any charities, national or otherwise, any of your local churchess... Anything that could help would be appreciated. I help when i can but i can only help so much. Please help me find some way to help my family. thank you

I am not trying to be a smartass, But while looking for other options, send a video to ABC TV Extreme Home Make-Over.... It can't hurt.

You can also look for a large house for rent in a decent, lower rent area and them move back in to help with the bills. Who ever is next in age, should be looking for a part time job after school too.

If the stepfather has been out of work for 5-6 years, he is not between jobs, he out out of work.

He needs to go to a temp agency and get a job while he is "between jobs"

I'm sorry to hear about your family's living conditions.Email Home Depot to get in touch with Ty Pennington,he has built new homes for many people in need.I never knew that Habitat for Humanity based needs on a credit score. That really disappoints me.You can put an ad in the paper that a family desparetly needs help and put your number as a contact.Call the American Red Cross, they should have alot of contact numbers. You can also call your local state representative and congressman, they may have contacts for you.Nothing worth having comes easy,so expect alot of hardwork. But DON"T give up,have faith that someone will help you.If you keep a positive attitude,it WILL get you somewhere.Post it on the web, post it in grocery stores, any where someone will let you.Good luck to you.

Possibly try contacting some TV shows if you think they wouldn't mind having their story aired IE; Oprah, Dr. Phil, Extreme Makeover(home edition). Goodwill, Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul for clothing or furniture and food. Maybe their local church. Good Luck!
