I would never consider marrying a protestant, jew, atheist, buddhist, muslim, etc. Anyone that is not Catholic or Greek Orthodox, I feel does not have the same upbringing that I have had. Does anyone feel the same or is race a more defining factor?

Why is it wrong? I think that a good portion of your attitude is shaped around religion. How you treat others and interact with the world. Race is a non-issue if you live in a fairly metropolitan city.

Its not wrong at all... its not even being a racists at all. There needs to be understanding between couples if its not then the relationship is doomed... if you think this helps you achieve that understanding.. you should always opt for...

for me... I dont consider religion important at all.... as far as race is concerned.. I'd only like human race ;)

I'm a protestant and proud of being that but even then I'm going to marry a muslim and remain christian. For me religion doesn't matter. From all the groups it's possible to find same-way thinking people one wants to share his life with and can appreciate another's view even if they would have had different upbringing. I can't say that even race would be a big deal. I do fall in love with a person. Not with his race or religion.

Neither.

Even with differences in values or upbringing or customs, all of us are no matter what race or religion the SAME!

Any difficulties CAN be overcome with love and understanding (if both sides try, now if one is trying to impose his / her believes on you then it's tough)... even if interreligious and interracial couples do unfortunately end up hearing so much crap from other people.

At this day and age is sad to still see so much intolerance, prejudices and ignorance (in the sence that hey, something is different? Then it's bad / inferior / to be feared)

Religion and race are both huge factors in a person's upbringing, and they can effect different people to different degrees. Personally, religion is far more important to me than race.

I feel the way you do. Unfortunately, my husband and I didn't really discuss religion (believe or not) before we married and it has been a big problem in our marriage now. Race is not an issue at all for me....religion is HUGE though....
