They think the new testament makes the old one obsolete and they're too afraid of receiving god's condemnation to so much as glance crosswise at the texts you mentioned, they're afraid of knowledge.Everything they know about god they learned from their preacher, cause they don't even read the bible.

Unsafe foods were prohibited. Pork, if not cooked well, can carry trichinosis, and rabbit can carry tularemia. (Leviticus 11:7)
Also the pig, because it is a splitter of the hoof and a former of a cleft in the hoof, but it itself does not chew the cud. It is unclean for YOU.
that Law was no longer binding after Jesus died. But still it depends on individual to take decision as rom 14:2 says 2 One [man] has faith to eat everything, but the [man] who is weak eats vegetables.
Therefore let us not be judging one another any longer, but rather make this YOUR decision, not to put before a brother a stumbling block or a cause for tripping

The gospel of Barnabas is gnostic literature that doesn't have anything to do with the Word of God. Have never heard of the scrolls of Hamadi. But they are not in the Bible. So I can't tell you what this human man-made literature says about pork.

Look what Jesus said in the Bible .
"14Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15 there is nothing outside a man which by going into him can defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him." 16 17 18 And he said to them, "Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?" (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 And he said, "What comes out of a man is what defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man."
Here is the proof that eating pork or not eating pork doesnt make a man more spiritual . Thats Jesus words .

I heard a good explanation of this not long ago.. It's a little complex and I have to admit, I haven't really examined in any depth.
Christ stated that heaven and earth would pass away but G-d's word would not pass away (referring to the Law and his own death) ~ With Christ's crucifixion and resurrection (G-d's word did not pass away) the spiritual kingdom is now available to all who will enter in (the heavens and earth having passes away).
Actually, its the only semi-logical explanation that I've seen in reference to the contradiction between Paul and Jesus.
Jesus saying do all that the Law commands and Paul saying only if you feel compelled.
For me, its confusing. I think that most Jewish people believe that gentiles are not required to follow the Law and are only required to submit to the Noahide Laws.

I see nothing wrong with good old fashion bacon and eggs. Anyway, there is a part in the Bible where Jesus says that he has cleansed all animals for food. It is in the New Testament.

1 Christians don't believe in the books you have mentioned so why bother.

2 Jesus himself said 'its not what goes into a man (goes in and passes out ) that makes him unclean it's what goes into the heart of a man.'

Unfortunately many people like yourself worry too much about outward things while you are not paying attention to the important things such as lying, stealing, corruption, lust etc. These things are what makes a man unclean.
