You should get in touch with your local Social Services they will tell you where to send them to. I donated lots of toys that my youngest had grown too big for and the Social Services came and collected them and distributed them to local childrens home accordingly. Hope this helps,

Try donating them to a local public library with the explicit instructions that the books be given to needy children. Lots of children come for "storytime" at local public libraries.

Donate them to the schools in your area and instruct them to give them free to the needy children.

Take them to Oxfam, they are the biggest secondhand book sellers in the UK and the money will go to poor and needy children, here as well as abroad.

Books are always wonderful, but they are costly to ship. Check locally at churches, shelters, and social service agencies.
