My babies loved cream of rice (avoid wheat at this age) or baby oatmeal (iron is added) I'd prepare it with hot milk and blend a banana in it. Make it lump-free. No sweetneror salt needed.
Or you can blend together raw peeled apples and ripe bananas. My kids loved avocados at that age too.

always offer milk and/or water with meal.

By the way the above answer tells you to give honey.
You should not give honey, citrus, eggs to a child under one.
Also make sure you puree or mash everything at this age, to prevent choking.
