This usually happens when a software installs incorectly in the unninstall registry area. In this case Windows will mark it as hidden, since it can't read that area and usually display that section with a blank area or with black bars....
To solve the problem you must find the coulprit by entering the registry area in the add/remove section, or use this little software for example...

I think you mean the add/remove program list.
Yes, I find it annoying too. Someone please tell us why it's there and how to get rid of it.

Now you listen to me Mat: nowadays computers are getting cheaper and cheaper...Heck, we almost give them away...So do yourself a favor and get a new computer,..,.a good one.
As for your old one, do yourself another favor and throw it in the trash-can, will ya??
