You know if you put a frog in a pan of boiling water, it'll jump back out. But if you put a frog in a pan of cool water, and heat the water to boiling, the frog will remain in the pan until it dies......I've never personally tried this, but this is what I've heard.
My point is that maybe these guys didn't treat the girl like crap to begin with, just kind of worked his way into it after she was with him for a while.
Or hell, maybe some girls are immature, melodramatic bitches that want their life to be a soap opera so they can have hours, days, months, and years worth of relationship horror stories, and be the most tragic girl at the self pity party.

In my situation he started out very kind and then gradually things got worse over time. I hoped things would get better and go back to how they were originally. I think this is why some women stay with men that don't treat them so well. I certainly don't enjoy it and I think many other women dislike it as well. It's not always as easy to leave a situation as it seems from the outside.

Good question. Actually I'm not sure why. Maybe the men who treat them like queens are too boring and too clingy, perhaps. But the men who treat them like dirt and more exciting and fresh. I mean, let's take high school for example A girl would rather date a Jock who sleeps with millions of girls without a care in the world, than the shy and quiet guy who spends his time in the library.

It is the puzzle of opposites attracting each other. A person who wants to change the world for the better does not immediately find opportunity to do so in an outwardly "good" person. It is a far more attractive and exciting accomplishment to try and make a tarnished soul shine.

I was one myself and at the time i thought I deserved nothing better. It's really hurt, but it might not easy as it seems to leave the man from outside. It's about low self-esteem. We think that we couldn't find other better men in this live again so we would do everything to keep him.
That wasn't very nice experience. However, when you wake up, you need to do it willingly by yourself.

I'd sure like to know too, because I was raised to treat women right, & always got screwed. That is until I found my wife of 10 1/2 yrs.

Because the men sugarcoat the crap and make it look all nice. Eventually the sugarcoating falls off and all you are left with is the crap...then we leave if we are smart.

Unfortunately, because some women think they can't do any better. Either they think they're not worthy, or, because of their past, they think that's the way women are supposed to be treated.

they don't, they fall in love with some1 only to realise that that person is not who they thought they were. then it becomes difficult to leave that person because if they leave that person, they leave with a damaged self esteem, because they end up blaming themselves, feeling that there's something wrong with them because the can't please the guy.
