Hi, Go to the gas company and explain to them what happened. Take proof of your age so they can see you were a minor when the account was opened. Let them go after him. You are not responsible because you were not of age when the account was opened, and you did not sign any papers. It was wrong for your father to do that, but you can straighten it out without having a blowup with him. The gas company will take care of it.

Oh dear! how can your dad use your name when you are not even at a legal age. Did you sign anything? If yes then this is a BIG problem, however can still be argued as at that time you were only a minor 15. If no then you are very safe.
Few steps you have to do :-
1) Talk to your dad and ask him to remove your name and please pay up the bills. Explain to him that he is tarnashing your name at such a young age and this will effect all your future loans and credit.
2) Please call up the Gas company and explain the situation and get some senior officers to help you to go after the correct party.
3) Worse case scenario you need to make a police report as this is a form of financial crime. And if found guilty your dad will face prison time.
Hope this helps. Be very careful how ppl use your name and ensure you dont sign anything that you are not completely clear in future.

If you were 15 when the service started for one you are not responsible. Under 18 you cannot enter into a binding legal agreement (which include's utilities). Talk to the utility company for starters and ask when and where you authorized this. You father for one is guilty of fraud. Considering he used someone else's identity and he didn't pay the bill he's guilty of criminal impersonation.

I do not know about your area but where I am from NO one who is under the age of 19 is liable for credit bills.
That is why they do not issue them to people under age
I think you should contact the gas comapny....write/e-mail and get this matter settled with or without your Dad.
It your name he used and because of your age you should not be held responsible and will not be

Sounds like your dad's a winner.
Did he have to give a SS# and If so did he provide yours to them? If he did then contact the gas company and provide them your birth certificate and remind them that it is illegal for them to establish an account for a minor and if they do not remove this from your name you will seek legal recourse.

It just depends on whether or not you're willing to persue charges against your father. Most children wont. But you've gotta do what you've gotta do. It's all up to you. But that's what you can do!
