I am thinking about being a physician, maybe in the future. I want to know how the life of one actually is, or a pharmacist?

I personally know two pharmacists that have become physicians, and two that have become PA's.

None so far that have gone the other way.

Still......I love my crazy little job

Physician: 4 years of college, 4 years of Med School (if you can get in), 3-7 years of residency, and 3-5 years of fellowship if you want to specialize in a field.

Example, 3-4 years of residency in IM and then 3-4 years of fellowship in Cardiology and then you are an Cardiologist!

Pharmacist: 6 years of college = Pharmacist (Ph.D. - Pharm. D.)

Actually for both occupations, they differ a lot. The requirements needed for both are also different. Pharmacists have a more routine job but for physician they can have quite hectic lives (I have heard of one who didnt get to sleep in 3 days). So it really depends on what you really want.

depends on the kind of specialty you want to go into as a physician. any kind of -ologist usually makes lotsa $$$. surgeons make a lot, but have a poor lifestyle because they are on call a lot. dermatologists make a ton, and are rarely if ever called into the hospital. i am a nurse practitioner with many years of hospital experience and have worked with med students, interns, residents, fellows, and attendings, and i have also been married to a physician forever.

Pharmacist and physians are different, Physians can be routine, whilst pharmacist can be very stressful and work very long hours. But it depends really where u work.
