When I am going through a trialing situation, I take my bible out, and pray that the Holy spirit will lead my to a part of scripture that will help me resolve the issue. I then flip open my bible to whatever page it lands on, and go to the first place my eyes go. It hasn't failed me yet. Has this happened to you or am I just delusional?

it's happened to me before. and the times it doesn't are only because i'm being stubborn and not really ready for guidance. my mom used this method constantly for six years as she struggled with breast cancer. the journals she kept were amazing. and you think the bible helps... i've opened up my bible and my book of mormon and found that together.. it is the most amazing thing ever!!! it's like taking a powerful tool and giving it SUPER powers..... you should try it sometime... no pressure... nothing like that... but try it a few times.. its pretty darn cool.. (i didn't believe it eitehr for a long time..... i've only had the book of mormon for like 2 years.. pretty cool stuff!)

If you expect a certain result, your perceptions can alter to make the results of what happens fit your expectations. In other words, you would like to see or feel proof that the Holy Spirit is acting for you, so you choose to accept the results which fit your desired outcome.

Have you numbered each instance and carefully documented every consequence? Have you tried getting others to do the same? Is there another text to try, to see that the results of using that are the same or different? You might try the same thing with the Koran, with the Webster's dictionary, with your Chilton's manual for a vehicle randomly chosen, or a vehicle for which you are familiar.

If you were to account for a possible delusion, would this be because you feel good about the delusion, or because the Holy Spirit might have motive to delude you? How would a delusion be different from a skeptic's position?

I've done it. Sometimes it did resolve the issue, sometimes I didn't see the answer - or maybe I just didn't look for it well enough. Sometimes I think my mind played tricks, like when I flipped open the book and found stuff - I think I subconsciously made my own answer. So, I don't think you are delusional.

yes it happened to me once. I was undecided about going back to work or staying home with my young children. I prayed and prayed but still did not know what to do. I wanted to stay home but needed an OK from God. I flipped open the Bible and pointed and fell on the words " keeper of the children".

Many times. Sometimes it is like finding the right scripture or receiving sudden answers that I would not have thought of. Sometimes its a feeling of something I should do or not do. When I act on these feelings they are always right. When I go against them I regret the choice.
At least twice I have had physical answers.

If you are a true believer, then you shouldn't ask that question if you are a delusional. It is a personal experience, not to be judged by anyone.
