If you believe that the 10 commandments set by Jesus stands, then you should also believe in seeking forgiveness. But only God knows your heart. If you broke a commandment thinking that you can then ask for forgiveness later, only God will know what the "penalty" is.
On the other hand, if you don't believe that the 10 commandments stand and are just curious about what will happen...I think it'll just come round and bite you in the behind :) What goes around comes around.

If your sole criteria for following a moral code is Moses you will have to ask him or the god of the burning bush . however if you see the intrinsic good judgment or reason for any well put code of behavior then you may see the worth of even those commandments regardless of fear of punishment other than the consequences of poor standards. the reason being the greater good benefits all and is more the standard of common law than Mose's tabulations. I would stick with common sense we all know right from wrong is honor and vengeance is questionable
at best .

I used to try to break ALL of the commandments on a daily basis. A bit hard for that "thou shalt not kill" thing, but there's a verse in the bible that says to hate your fellow man is the same thing as killing him, so technically I did that too.As far as I could tell the only thing that ever came of it was a good day for me every single day, but it got kinda tiresome doing the same thing every day so now I pick and choose more carefully and use my imagination when selecting a way to defy the teachings of the judeo-christian god and christ.

You can ask God for forgiveness and be forgiven. But the Word of God say that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. May God Bless

It use to be that they would break your legs. Nowadays it's not that big of a deal to break most of the commandments. But if you get caught with another persons spouse, expect some trouble, and the cops really frown on it if you kill people or take things that aren't yours.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

It depends on what religion you are, and what exactly you've 'done wrong'. Generally, you are supposed to be genuinely sorry. My dad gave me a 752 page book to "make me more religious" called "An Exhaustive Explanation of the Catholic Religion", which IS exhaustive! If you want me to look up something specific, mail me and I will. (Don't be afraid, I haven't been to church in a long time and think anyone can believe whatever they like. ) Just trying to be helpful.

The penalty is death, but now since Christ its a little different. By the law your flesh shall be justified, but its by grace you are saved. Meaning you are saved only by asking Jesus into your heart.

you don't get a 'get out of jail free' card
you do have to pay the consequences for that sin, only God knows what will be required of you.
