Now, I am a mother myself but as a child I always thought my parents were happy. They never argued and we always went places and holidays etc. But when I was 11 my dad told us he was leaving, it was heartbreaking, and with a woman half his age. It took a long time to rebuild a relationship with him. After he left my mother wanted to do her own thing and began dating and staying away. My sister feels she thought that if dad didnt have to worry about us why should she. I was lucky to have my sister (4yrs older) as soon my mum went to prison for fraud. My sister raised me from the age of twelve and we remain close to this day. By the time I was 23 we both had a good relationship with dad and he was getting into the "grandad" role! Then he suffered a major heartattack in which he was shocked back to life after being dead for 23 mins and was then in a coma for ten days. During this time the doctors revealed he had little brain activity and said we should say our goodbyes as they were going to turn the machines off. So we did this and the next day he woke up!!
To cut and even longer story shorter - today Mum is around and trying to make up for time lost and dad is in a nursing home as he needs 24hr care - due to brain injury. If it wasn't for my sister I wouldn't be able to appreciate any of what I have. We dont do as much for dad as we should as we are trying to raise our own families but include him in all occasions. We dont trust mum a whole lot but we are working on that one. The only way to cope is to take each day as it comes and deal as you go.

it happens sometimes you have parents but they just are never there. you could be raised in a home with a family and not have a family and never know what it feels to be loved or to have a home. you just find strength within you and be compassionate and forgiving and strong no matter what. make the best of life. it gets you down sometimes...a lot of the time in fact, but u pick urself up and tell ur self ur never alone because u have you!! and you will have all the love you gather. its okay if u uniformly don't have what everyone has or don't have what everyone thinks is normal.everyone takes take the normal things for granted anyway. go and make a family find a family, look within you look to God. spread love and ur gather twice as much in return. just don't let anything get u down. love urself and love life, its a battle but u gotta love it!!!good luck!

If he's a rude, selfish, hypocritical, inconsiderate, condescending, overopinionated, stuck-up bad boy, dump him or reject him and tell other girls to avoid him!
