Has anyone heard if M$ will be giving out any complementary copies of Vista?

The reason I ask is a few years ago when XP was released, I heard there were trade shows held by M$ in various cities and free copies of XP were handed out to participants.

By default it cannot be free regarding Microsoft's commerce policies. The answer given by dear 'blessed_thang' is true, it mostly open to Microsoft client like Partner Program, MSDN & Technet Plus Subscribers only. If it is not, it would be a 180 days trial version with full features.

You may visit its customer Help and Support Center at http://support.microsoft.com and rise your question via email service. Also, you can just drop your question at any feedback page on Microsoft website, their customer service representive will kindly response to you in a short time.

That could be but it has been my experience those kind of freebies at a trade show are by invitation only. Unless you are a company that has invested substantially in MS product, don't hold your breath.

Why do you want Vista? I heard it is going to offer a new feature called Digital Rights Management. Users of Vista will need a key for every video, software package and copy of Vista they run.
