First things first turn your color completly off. Look at the picture and see if it is a good black and white picture. If it has any color tint to it your gray scale is not adjusted properly. This could be due to a bad picture as well and being a 1985 model that is very likely. In the back of the set are controls for red and green controls that are used to adjust the color guns on the picture and they should be equal to the point of a good black and white picture and then you can get a good color picture using the color and tint controls. Hope this helps.

You have the same TV as my grandparents have, a classic old 25" cathode ray tube stuck in a beautiful expensive mahogany cabinet. My grandfather adjusts it by clicking open the panel on the right side below the channel and volume buttons. I think there are additional "cyan" "yellow" "magenta" controls in the back, but be careful.

if you have that kind of old tv's ... but it hs a colored control or menu.. try to adjust it.. but if it's a black and white..you have to convert it or remodel your tv set. it is a very difficult things to do. One thing i know about this "you have to check the frequencies of your set, then adjust it in the frequency availble in your place.. like PAL, NTSC..etc reception.
