(On the phone), in case he goes bolistic . example: "Hi, it's me ,I have been thinking about us and I really need some time. We've been together a long time and things are just not working out for me anymore,your'e a great guy and I enjoyed being with you . I just need to move on, hope you understand,take care,...bye." Don't let him take you on an emotional journey by asking lots of 'Why" questions...he'll just send you on an emotional guilt trip and you'll end up staying in the relationship.

You're not telling us why you want to break up, 8 years is a long time, obviously something worked. If you want things to work out, then talk about it with him before you make any stupid decisions, because I promise you... you will regret it if you don't think it through.

That all depends on anything that going on at the time.
If nothing in particular is wrong then I would just tell them I'm not in love with them anymore and we both deserve to have true love in our lives and I'm setting us free to find it.

We've been together a long time and I just don't see us moving forward anymore then we have. I think it's time that we move on and look for someone else.

that easy, you just have to let go,stop clinging, the more you cling the more, you will feel the pain, have something to do beside watching his picture, its not worth anyway, its not the years that counts, don't be a martyr OK,....you can do it!!!!!!!!
