Only in the sense that the Republican party has catered to the fundamentalist Christian right for far too long! But bear in mind, they only use the religious groups for their vote and their campaign contributions.

George Bush represents something far more worse than just fundamentalism, although fundamentalism is scary enough. He represents the rich and powerful elite you want to circumvent the law and human rights to secure their stranglehold on the world's resources and wealth! He had put into law illegal roving wiretapping, domestic spying, torture, and war-profiteering via no-bid contracts given to Halliburton. Folks, this used to be called TREASON a few years ago. He represents racial and class division with his "handling" of Katrina (which can also be considered an impeachable offense, by the way) while at the same time allowing, and encouraging, the middle class to shrink. This has happened before. There was a country that believed in all sorts of made up threats from the outside world, and instituted harsh restrictions on it's citizens rights, expressions, and freedoms in the name of security. This country blamed it's woes on immigrants and a certain religious group, which was then declared a mortal enemy that must be destroyed completely. This country was known as NAZI Germany. And the reason it happened there is the same reason that, if unchecked, will happen here. It is because people have stopped getting involved in what our government does and holding the goverment accountable for it's actions. Don't you find it tragic and sad that a president can go to war based on lies, war profiteering, and to expand global warfare and not get impeached while another president almost got impeached for a *******? I guess in that respect, the fundamentalist Christian right is being consistent!

I do not think of fundamentalism when I think of Bush. Fundamentalism inspires absolutes that cloud logical though. For instance, there are people out there that feel it is their total purpose to convert me to their religion. Those same thoughts lead to those that want to kill me for defying their beliefs. Bush, granted is a doofus, but he has a pretty good team that helps him. So as absurdedly as he often sounds, I think there is at least an ounce of truth there. Otherwise I would be just an anti-American saying that our governent is based on crap.

Yes they have become synonymous. As fro undoing that....it can't be done becasue the politicions and representatives of right wing perspective are consistantly pointing out the religious nature of their position, and reminding us that anyone that is agins them is aginst God and the us, which according to them...is supposed to be a christians ONLY country...they make no pretense of even acknowledging the exsistance of non-christians, let alone the idea that they ahve any rights becsue to them non-christians DON'T have any rights...should not have any rights...

damage has been done...all we can do is find a way to fight...and be willing to fight on EVERY level...

I realize that you are being brainwashed into disbeleif in religion, but you might OPEN your mind instead of being so judgemental.....I sure would hope the person running the county has some moral grounding, otherwise he would be having afairs all over the white house as bill clinton did. it is a dangerous thing when everyone just does as they please, because things are immoral and they shouldn't be done. You will figure this out someday......

Bush is the first religious nut job ever to be President. I hope we never have another Born-Again, or Bush in the White House. He is the worst presdent ever...evil and corrupt.

No. Christianity is synonimous with Christ. Bush represents religious extremists who prey on little kids.

GWB is a Methodist, the same as Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. So I don't think of GWB as a fundamentalist.
