The American Coffee Council spent millions in the 60s and 70s to get Americans to drink coffee. They were unsuccessfull. Now every one is at Starbuck's I think it is just a fad. You can tell the ones that don't really like coffee right away by what they put in it like: Double mocha, half caff, mochiatta, with soy milk and lite foam and could you put some cinnomon on that and a shot of vanilla?

Only if they don't like it. I live near Seattle, and I drink it once in a while because I do like it; also, it's in the Barnes and Noble store where I shop, and I like to hang out and read sometimes. I don't care if anybody else likes it or not, or if they see me or not - in fact, I'd generally prefer to be left alone when I'm reading, which the folks at B&N are good about, so it's a win-win situation for me.

There coffee is really good. I enjoy espresso, mochiatto and a capuccino. Those are the real thing you find in the European coffee shops. Personally I like Second Cup better in Canada. The only thing I don't like is those stupid frappucino whatnots. THAT IS NOT COFFEE!! You might as well get a milkshake. Those I'd say are posers or people who need to pay $5 for a milkshake..

However, I wish it wasn't so expensive. When I was in Italy, Espresso was only a Euro at most places and the lady at the counter gave me a free biscotti. Now that was good.

Personally I find the taste of most of Starbucks beans to be a little strong for my pallet. I prefer Tim Horton's for coffee, however if I want to treat myself to something luxuriously sweet and rich, I will go to Starbucks and order a mocha, or and Gingerbread latte. I could just as easily get a piece of cake from a bakery, however It wouldn't have the big comfy couches, or the staff that will give you anything you want even if it is a soy milk 180 degree sugar free mocha with extra foam! Not that I would ever order that it's nice to know that the "partners" as they call themselves are there to give you full service, and would not complain if I were one of those people.

Starbucks coffee and espresso is really good. Even if I get one of the Mochas or Macchiato drinks I can still taste the espresso and how great it is. No one makes a mocha like Starbucks it's not as sweet as other places. Yum

I truly love Starbucks coffee so much that it is all I brew at home. I'm not spending this kind of money to pose to myself in the morning :) I've been drinking coffee all my life ( I'm pretty darn old) and Starbucks has the best I have ever tasted.

yeah right...and you wannabee Jamaicans/Trustafarians come up here to the Pacific Northwest, play raggae music in the clubs in both Seattle and Portland and you also drink Starbucks and let the white girls chase you. I've seen it a thousand times.

I'm not. I really enjoy the taste of their drinks and their food, they are fattening though, but I'm not a poser for drinking Starbucks. Maybe some are, though. But not everyone.
