The advertisement is not about the candy itself melting in your hands, it is in reference to the candy shell keeping the chocolate from melting in your hands. So by saying, "Melts in your mouth, not in your hands", that is a reference to the chocolate inside the candy shell. For that reason, I doubt that Mars, Incorporated was ever successfully sued for false advertising.

I don't see how this has anything to do with religion but it's a good question.
I always wondered why they said that when it's a lie.lol
If someone can get sued for serving coffee that was hot then they could get sued for melted candy.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that, that's why I don't mess with M&Ms because that shell is so thick, takes and hour to melt in your mouth and and day to melt in your hand. LOL

You have a point, but it would be easy to defend in court. All they have to say is that the slogan is intended for room temperature; and because everything has a melting point, you can't really sue them for having a melting point.

i don,t know if they have ever been sued, but it is not true that they melt in your mouth and not in your hand, because they surely DO melt in your hand.

Are you kidding! You aren't supposed to hold them that long. I guess next you will be wanting to sue Heresy Bars or the Union Jack!
