hi i am 18 yrs male and my height is 5'8 .and want to go to gym and excersice. but my mom says that excersising decreases the growth of height ,is it true????i want to grow tall.plz suggest me should i go to gym or not????

No. Exercise decreases the growth of weight.

Exercise will not decrease your height. If anything, it keeps your bones stong and your spine more straight (doing stretching like yoga). Go to the gym!

There is no evidence that it does, however overdoing weights may cause damage to muscles if you pull one or split it which may impede growth. So go ahead and exercise. It's a myth. Just don't drop the weights on your legs.

Exercise will stimulate more blood flow to your muscles and bones, so it will actually stimulate your growth. So if you want to grow taller, you should go to the gym.

No. As a matter of fact the more you stretch the more your muscles stretch and you might become a couple of inches taller.

You stop growing when you turn 18. so even if you dont jym you would stay at 5'8.
