We meditate (speaking to oneself over and over again) on the word of God to allow the Holy Spirit to cause the word that we know in our heads to be deposited in our hearts. This happens when the word is quickened into our spirits by the Holy Spirit which is described as rhema or revelation. Then faith comes when we hear the rhema of God (Rom 10:17). Then we will have the word and the faith to accomplish it. Meditating on the word should result in its fulfilment. Ps 1:3 says on someone who meditates that whatever he does shall prosper.

No I do not memorize verses. I use a number of versions. I know my way about the bible as one would be familiar with streets. When I get questions, I use the knowledge of where things are in the bible. Once I find the location of something, I try to gather the verses that address the point.
But something the collection of verses are not clear. When this happens I head toward the Hebrew or Greek for clarification. I personally belief that the bible interprets itself.
I am learning everyday for a deeper understanding. The more questions that I answer, the more I know. I am at peace.
Revelation is not about being true or false; it is about belief. You either believe it or you don't.

I never make it a point to "memorize verses and say it's the truth" to others, especially when it is unsolicited information...
Instead I prefer to understand the Scriptures in their entirety, know where to locate them should the occasion arise, and be more at peace with the knowledge of applying the teachings that they each contain.
Peace be with you.

Memorizing verses is profitless unless it can be applied to one's life and get the God type of results. James 1:22 says not to just be a hearer of the Word, but a doer. Peace comes as a result of one living the Word.

I do memorize verses, and I do say they're truth; but I also meditate on the verses so that I know them in heart and not just in my head.

Memorizing verses does not help you to know something is true. The wisdom contained in God's Word the Bible shows what the Truth is. Understanding it deeply is what helps you recognize the Bible is filled with truth and wisdom..
Proverbs 2:1-12 says: "....treasure up my own commandments with yourself, so as to pay attention to wisdom with your ear, that you may incline your heart to discernment; if, moreover, you call out for understanding itself and you give forth your voice for discernment itself, if you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, in that case you will understand the fear of Jehovah, and you will find the very knowledge of God. For Jehovah himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment. And for the upright ones he will treasure up practical wisdom; for those walking in integrity he is a shield, by observing the paths of judgment, he will guard the very way of his loyal ones. In that case you will understand righteousness and judgment and uprightness, the entire course of what is good. When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul, thinking ability itself will keep guard over you, discernment itself will safeguard you, to deliver you from the bad way...."

DAVID SAID:
THY WORD HAVE I HIDE IN MY HEART THAT I MIGHT NOT SIN AGAINST THEE.
THY WORD OH GOD,IS A LIGHT UNTO MY FEET AND A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH.
I MEMORIZE VERSES BECAUSE THEY ARE TRUTH.
AND WITH UNDERSTANDING I HAVE PEACE

both... Memorisation is just for having God's word in your heart for when you need it (usually you don't have a Bible around, or you don't feel like opening it when you need it most.)
It is also about understanding and growing the peace the surpasses all understanding.
