It’s morning rush hour. I was in my office block waiting for an elevator. When the door opened, I rushed in with my colleagues & it’s jam packed. On the way up, I felt a big fart coming & tried as I may, I couldn’t control it. So I let it out & unluckily for me, it happened just at that moment when there was a lull in conversation. Everyone looked at me. I could feel the blush on my face. If you were me, what would you do next?

be the first one to laugh. it takes everyone else's embarassment about the situation away, and you come off seeming more self-confident. Plus. now they're laughing with you and not at you.

I would be te first to laugh. That way they are lauging with you and not at you. I find in situations like this, people react based on how you react. If you act embarassed, it makes them feel awkward, if you laugh, that usually tells them you are comfortable in your skin, and that laughing about it is okay. Everyone farts, so I really wouldn't make a big issue of it if someone did it in my presence. I think people overreact to them sometimes. Besides they will forget it happened in about a week.
