Well, the time frame you have definitely restricts your options, but fear not! you still have plenty of time for some weight loss before the holidays (maybe as little as a pound or as much as 4 or 5).
1. Definitely start watching what you eat. Don't starve yourself or go on a "crash" diet, because in the short term those will make you retain weight and in the long term are incredibly unhealthy.
2. Cardio Cardio CARDIO! Run, jog, bike swim, do jumping jacks, garden, mow the lawn, put up holiday lights, go for a walk....well you get the idea. Basically, do anything you can to raise your heart rate for AT LEAST 30 minutes a day (though it doesn't have to be consecutive, it can be 10 minutes here, 15 there and 5 somewhere else etc...). Ideally if you want to lose weight in the next 3 weeks, an hour or so a day might not be a bad idea. But most important with any cardio exercise, check with your doctor. If you have a heart condition it may not be right for you to stress your heart that much, and your doctor can recommend healthy alternatives. If you're in good shape heart-wise, then remember the second most important rule of cardio: do something you like! If running is a major pain for you, but you really like gardening, then by all means, garden away! You'll be able to do more, longer if you enjoy it as opposed to if you have to force yourself to do it.
3. Stick with it. Develop an exercise regimen and make sure you do cardio at least 3-5 times a week (again, in a 3 week period preferably 5 times a week, but something is always better than nothing).
4. Don't expect results the next day. It'll take at least 2 weeks for significantly noticeable results, so don't get discouraged. Just keep thinking to yourself "I look great, but i'll look even better if I finish this run/swim/jog etc..."
5. THINK POSITIVE. Positive thinking goes a long way toward helping achieve your goal. Even if others don't think you can, don't be discouraged. Only you can decide what you can and can't do. And if nothing else, take heart, I believe you can do this.
I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you have a safe, fun and enjoyable Christmas season! (Try not to o/d on the egg nog...lol)

Well you'll need to PLAN out a meal plan. And you need motivation, lose weight for a selfish reason if your dong it because a doctor said to well go get the ice cream! But if you do it to say look better then a friend or being pretteir then someone your gonna say no to the ice cream! Make sure you eat less calories then you burn. 3500 calories=1pound do if you burn 3500 calories besides the food calories youll lose about a pound. BUT you will gain muscle wich weighs more then fat so I'd go by inches!

i tried something and it really worked for me:
1. Play at least 3 times a week sports. Do strength exercises and cardio. Try running 20 minutes on an average speed.
2. Do a food diary. Everytime you eat something, write it down, write the time, the place, how u were feeling at this moment and the most important the amout of "CALORIES" you ate. Some people don't believe in this but i tried it and it worked wonders on me.
3. Be healthy, eat fruits and veggies, proteins, drink lots of water, snack on salad and fruits. Try to plan your meals so that ur body gets used to the food and burns faster.
Gd luck!!

Get your tonsils taken out =P I just went through that and lost almost 10 lbs.
But it's a horrible way to do it. I hate starving myself b/c of pain!
I suggest you eat healthy. Eat yogurt or whole grain cerial with low fat milk in the mornings. Salmon is good for you in many ways and it's not real fattening. Plenty of fruits for the vitamin C and get some veggies in. Also try alittle exercise everyday.
