I'm wondering if my cat is depressed from being the only pet in the house. Should I get it a friend?

Hello there, I was in the same situation as you, but I bit the bullet and am getting my new kitten in 2 weeks. I suppose it depends on the personality of your cat, and how often you are home. If your cat follows you around the house, frets when your not home, and loves other animals, maybe you should get one. But if your cat its easy going, and dosnt care if he/she is home alone, it is up to you I suppose. I hope this has helped. If you decide to get a cat in the future, good luck

If you're gone most of the day than it might be a good idea to get another cat. They can keep each other company. If your cat is older than adopting an adult cat is a wonderful thing. One must be careful if one has an alfa (dominant) male because he would not want another male in the house. I love having a cat son and daughter!

No. Your cat is too weak (based on your other question) to deal with you getting another cat. Don't self-diagnose your cat.

Domestic cats don't *need* to have a friend. TO do so right now would be a terrible idea.

Yes. I have two kittens. It's hilarious to see them chase and play with each other, plus no one is home for the most part during the day...so we know they are occupied with each other when we are gone.
