How do you define "gifts of the Spirit"? Would you also tell me what religion you are, (denomination, if you are Christian)? If you don't like all of the questions, feel free to answer whichever ones you're OK with (or none).

The nine gifts of the Spirit is set out in 1 Cor 12:8-10 which are word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healings, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues. The gifts are given as the Holy Spirit wills (1 Cor 12:11). The gifts are irrevocable (Rom 11:29) The gifts are to be used together with the fruit of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 13, Gal 5:22,23). We should desire spiritual gifts especially to prophesy (1 Cor 14:1). God intends that we be His witnesses of His words with signs , wonders and miracles following. That is why He gives us power in Acts 1:8. We need spiritual gifts to accomplish this. I am full gospel, believing in, preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God.

The holy spirit is God's "free gift", which he gladly grants to those who sincerely seek and request it. Acts 1:38; Luke 11:9-13
Once received the christian should not grieve God's holy spirit by disregarding it....taking a course contrary to its leading
Deliberate opposition to and rebellion against the evident manifestation of God's spirit can mean blasphemy against that spirit, a sin that is unforgivable. Matt 12:31; Mark 3:29,30; heb 10:26-31

gifts of the spirit are talents God has given to humans that benefit Him and His kingdom. I think we are all in the Body of Christ, and each gift is a part of the church body, none is better than the other, we dont need one more than we need the other. Just like in Matthew.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

Wisdom, Understanding, Right judgment, Knowledge, Courage, Reverence, and Wonder and awe (of God).

I'm Roman Catholic. How do I define them? I don't, God defined them. They're just that--supernatural gifts from the Holy Spirit that help us develop a closer relationship with God, seeing His will for us, and also to provide help to others, whether it be physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

Hope that helps answer your question!

It is not a question of what I "feel" about them it is more what I know to be true about them. The Gifts of the Spirit are very real and are given freely to those who have a heart towards GOD and seek all that GOD wants to bless them with. I have seen these gifts in operation and KNOW that they are a most awesome thing.
I am a Believer who attends an Assembly of GOD Church.

There are many religions in the world today, just as there are many spirits. You ask us to tell you if we belong to a religion and then go on to ask if we be Christian.

Your question confuses me for a true Christian belongs to no religion. Their life is a reality with God. Walking hand in hand with Him through His Son Jesus Christ His Word.

I do hope this will set you straight and open your eyes to the Truth.<><

I am currently a Deist...but from the Bible....I believe it is stated very well in 1st Corinthians 14.

"Pursue Love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy". (it continues)....but I won't type it all here for you to read. I'm sure you can look it up for yourself if you're interested in reading more.

Anyways....that's why I believe the gifts of the spirit are worth consideration.

Peace!

God gives gifts of many kinds to many people, each of His own choosing and of His will. If you were to ask God for wisdom for example you would have to trust with every part of your mind and heart that God had given you that gift and use to help others. On the other hand if God does give you a gift and you dont use it in the proper manner, He will take it away.
