The con artist won't ask for money right away!

The Bible talks about knowing someone by their fruits. If what they do is truly of God then we will see the body of Christ grow. But if this "holy man" is a con then he will try to divide the body of Christ and question things that are principle in the Christian faith.

Another thing is this... A true man of God is not afraid to admit their sins and mistakes. They acknowledge that they're a sinner and they are very open when they make a mistake.

Anyone that belongs to an organized religion is truly a con man. A true holy man does not prop himself up against a background of an organized religion

Someone who is truly holy will help the poor, the sick and the unfortunate, and they will do it themselves. The holiest people I have ever known have shown one thing: true compassion for others.

Anyone who preaches hate for others and lives like a rich man off the money from his followers is far from holy.

Compassion, compassion, compassion. Not fake compassion, but real compassion. That is the one and only proof.

Money is a good one. If the way you give your money to the organization is completely up to you, that is a good sign. If they are trying to get you to sign over stuff or give your whole paycheck or something, its probably bad. If this person does not lead a church/organization, find out what he feels about free choice. If he seems to try to control your choices it is probably bad news. See how he treats food-servers, if he is polite and curteous to waiters/waitresses that is probably a really good sign. If he sees to mistreat other people, it doesn't matter how well he treats you now, he will treat you bad eventually as well... Hope this helps!

Jesus told us how to tell the difference.
Mat 7:16-18 by their fruit you will recognize them. Do you pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Likewise evey good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
