play with ice? Whenever we get ice from the ice maker they start running and then they want us to throw a piece to them to play with it. Is this weird?

Kittens love to play with anything, never had my cat do it, but my dog loves ice cubes. :-)

It's not too weird. Cats like their water cold, and some have (after tasting ice) refused to drink their water unless there's an ice cube in it.
Besides, I'm guessing your ice maker makes a very intriguing sound when you get the ice, and therefore the kittens automatically see something they can hunt or play with. That ice skids nicely over floors only adds to it, not to mention they CAN eat it (sort of) when they're done, unlike other toys.

well I have 2 small kittens not quite a year old and the get in the sink in the morning when I am brushing my teeth, they love the water, they can be in another room and hear the water running no matter where no matter if it is inside or out they come running even when I run the water in the kitchen sink. They even get in the bird bath outside. I know it sounds weird cause cats don't like water. But to answer your question I think it is weird but maybe cause the ice is cold. If you really want to laugh get a paper bag and open it and put on the floor mine go crazy lol

Kittens are very playful. They have this curious character and will play with anything that they can find. They especially likes to play with moving things.

Perhaps the ice cubes move when they touch it and they find that fascinating. My cats will play with things like feathers, broom, newpapers, rubber band, ball, plastic on the floor, tried to bite my handphone, chew on my mum's plants and so much more. All these activities stimulate their mind (since my cats find no joy in watching tv). But after some time, they will get bored after playing with the same thing over and over again.

I've never had my cats play with ice, but they love to play with pretty much anything. They LOVE the plastic rings off of the milk jugs, they play with those for hours. What I find weird is that my cats love to sleep on plastic bags, if there is one on the floor or a news paper, they will opt to sleep on it instead of the couch or a chair.. Weird creatures.

Its not wierd its just the way they play like they would if it was another toy like a ball of yarn or a jingle ball or stuff like that there and its good cause the exercise keeps them Healthy too .

That is the fun of kittens. They find everything interesting, until they exhaust themselves and fall over in a dead sleep. Wouldn't you love their energy?

no it's not weird, it rolls around and is interesting to the cats, cats like things that roll and they can play with by kicking around and stuff, they also like to explore if they find new things they will investigate.
