the gears in your tuining peg might be broken or you have some slippage somewhere.

Another possibility is you just need a new string. I have a feeling you have already changed the strings.

I've had a similar problem before and you might want to check the nut. It could be that the string has gradually sawed its way through the nut's string slot, or that the nut is cracked. If that's the case, it's not tuning because the string is caught. That tends to happen with the high E string, especially if you have a) an older guitar and/or b) a tendency to wind your strings too tightly when you change them and/or c) a nut made of cheap materials. In which case you'll have to replace the nut.

your tuning peg may be a little bit loose, not a whole lot, but just enough so that when the string stretches to a certain point it wont turn any futher without turning back...or you could check your tuner, if it was made for a specific instrument it may not work for the guitars. I highly doubt that though cause these days most tuners are multi instrument

sounds like you need a new machine head or tuning peg. It's slipping. Make sure you have new strings too.
