there is a great line between a spanking and being abusive. One ought to continually be very alert to what they are doing and why. in my opinion i believe that any kind of punishment the position there is actual contact is really one of those abuse. father and mother in various of circumstances use the reasoning that they love their baby and that's the thanks to reveal it and then they punish the youngster again even as the youngster "spanks" yet another baby. children mimic what they see, what the hear and what they adventure. that's how they learn.... perfect from incorrect. i imagine that it really is attainable for a baby to modify into abusive from spankings purely because i believe that spankings are literally one of those administration and abuse. -------------------------------- as long as you adore your baby and are continually making judgements in accordance with their perfect interest ... you'll do high quality. No make sure is ideal and all of us make mistakes. that's the way you learn from each and every person that makes you a reliable make sure! i'm a unmarried mom with 3 sons who're now 16, 14 and 10 years of age. Parenting is the hardest interest one human being will ever have of their lifetime, maximum worthwhile besides ~ delight in each and every passing second! Take care! :-)

I think we all just have to bite a hole through our lip. My daughter (17 month) makes the cutest "I'm about to do something BAAAAAAAAAADDDDD" face ever and it's almost impossible for me to keep a straight face while I tell her to stop. But what I have found is that I'm perfectly allowed to laugh at her while she throws a tantrum. She's so funny when she does it and then looks up at you like "are you looking at me?" it's just hysterical.

self control is part of disciplining a child

if they get the idea that by acting cute they can manipulate their way into doing whatever they like and avoid a telling off then he will still continue to do it later on when he is far less cute (IE do you want him to laugh at YOU when he is 14 years old and ask him to do something (or not to do something?))

maybe hold him close to you - on your lap or something - so that he cant see your face while you tell him off could help there?

I have the same problem...my step daughter is 21 months and I find myself having to bite my lip in order not to laugh. If I can't fight the urge, I turn away and try to laugh silently.

Try biting down on the inside of your mouth and put on a serious face. If he find out you find it funny, he'll never stop.

You have to control your laughter if you want to discipline your child. You know that nowadays the kids are too smart for us to discipline. So you have to be stern with your kids before he gets out of hand.

Every child in prison has a mother who thought he was cute/funny. If you don't do something now, your darling could grow up into an evil *gasp* REPUBLICAN!

I do it too. My daughter dropped the "f" bomb twice today. (this was the first time she's ever done that)
I disciplined her & corrected her but it was so funny!
