To try to make it simple: The prosecuter tries to put you in the slammer while the defending attorney tries to get you off the hook.
Good defense attorneys make a lot of money while the prosecutors try to provide justice to victims so they have to believe in what they are doing because they don't make near the money. That is also a difference.

Prosecuting attorneys work for the state and prosecute and / or try to put those accused of crimes in jail or fine them. Defending attorney do the opposite, they defend people who have been charged with crimes. Defending attorney can work for the state, public defenders who work for people that cannot afford an attorney, or can be privately hired.

A prosecuting attorney tries to give proof that the defendant did a crime or planned it out, he tries to get a stiff punishment and put the defendant in prison or etc. He tries to make out the defendant is guilty. The defending attorney tries to prove that the defendant is innocent or even get a lighter sentence or tell the defendant or his client how to plead like not guilty or temporary insanity etc. He's for the defendant or the person accused and the prosecuting attorney is against the person accused.

Well that is a very easy question to answer....
The Prosecuting Attorney is the Attorney of the State...in other words the one that will be trying to put you in jail....
A Public Defender or Defense Attorney is the one that represents you against the state. In other words that one that is trying to keep you out of jail....

The prosecution is the side trying to charge the other side (the defense) with a crime.
So the prosecuting attorney is for the prosecution and the defending attorney is for the defense.
Hope this helps!

The prosecuting attorney argues to send you to jail and the defending attorney argues not to send you to jail.
Both can be wrong - but usually not at the same time.

In short a prosecuting attorney is trying to put you in or under the jail and the defending is keeping you from going to jail. Got it.

The term lawyer, attorney and counsel are all used to define someone who works as an officer of the court. However if you want to get technical, the word attorney is used to define an individual who can represent an individual. Like giving a "power of attorney" where your brother can represent you and make decisions on your behalf but can not practice law unless he is a: Attorney-At-Law or Lawyer- This term is used to define an officer of the court who is licensed to practice law and represent a client. District Attorney: This is a lawyer who represents local government, in some jurisdictions the DA can be elected or appointed by the executive office such as a mayor or a governor. You must be a licensed lawyer to be a district attorney. Counsel: It is an old English common law term to describe a lawyer who is representing someone. You can represent someone (an individual) as a lawyer, attorney-at-law or counsel. But you can only represent the governing body as a District Attorney You can represent someone as an attorney, but you can not practice law you are just acting on their behalf.

Well the suposed difference is the the procecutor tries to prove you guilt will the defender tries to prove you innocent.
But I like to think that there is not real difference between the two as they are both out to get reguardless of guilt. But that is just my thoughts on the matter.

The prosecutor represents the state, and it is his job to put you in jail for your alledged crime. The defense atty. represents youm and is to try his best to get you off, with no jail time, or as little jail time as possible.
