Simple, Jesus is God's form on this earth. Since God was essentially Jesus, Jesus was essentially God in human form.

God is the invisible supreme being who created the first humans Adam and Eve and everything in the known universe and beyond.
Jesus is his son born of Mary via an immaculate conception. They are distinct and individual beings. Jesus was God's first creation in the heavens before he was born flesh and blood on the Earth. Even Jesus knows not the time of the end. It comes as a theif in the night ...only the father knows that day.

Start sending them to Sunday school and church on Sundays. If you went and/or read your Bible you wouldn't need to ask this question in this forum. Just a suggestion because it would be best if you as someone they are asking, (parent, friend,or whatever relationship you have with them) it would make more sense to them if you could just explain things right then and there.

jesus is the son of god.

the easiest way to explain it is ask a little boy how he is different from his father, and say that is how jesus is different from god :)

... Jesus is the SON of god, not god himself. Therefore, he doesn't have all the abilities of god.

I thought that was rather obvious.
