The Atheists offer nothing to convert me to. They don't offer another answer or a better life or hope. All I can see that they are here for is to try to take hope away from believers. My faith is strong enough not to be swayed by evil outside forces with nothing to offer.
I am here in this forum to answer questions to the best of my ability in the hopes of giving wisdom to the seeker and hopefully save a soul or two. There have also been times when a question or link has touched my soul and blessed me as well.
This isn't a battle of wills at all my friend. This is a spiritual battle. The bad news for the unbelievers is that the battle has already been won through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So even if an Atheist deems he/she "won" a battle here in the forum what has it gained them? They've already lost the war.

First off I cannot remember seeing one question or answer from an atheist that definitively instructs the recipient to not believe. I think that if you take a step back you will notice that 90% of responses from "believers" as you call them can be viewed as a clear instruction on what people should believe. I'll cite some examples from the responses you've gotten from this question: there's the girl who wants everyone to know that god loves them (if someone doesn't hold this view does it matter?), there are the scores of people who quote (often incorrectly) any vague bible reference that they can think of. (again, if someone doesn't believe anything written in the bible, how is it a valid point?) But the award for the MOST IGNORANT answer to your query is the one who likened an atheist to a corpse-now you tell me who's trying to convert who?
The vast majority of atheists and non believers on this forum are trying to understand how and why another's belief system works, rather than taking the route that the majority of "believers" take by forcing their views down other people's throats.
This issue will always, always be a battle of wills until the participants (from both sides of the question) learn to live and let live. To push your beliefs on any other person is the most ignorant thing that you could ever do simply because you have no right to tell them what to believe, just as they have no right to tell you what to believe.
Unfortunately, since no one way is correct (again, let go of your arrogance, take a step back and consider the fact that what you have been brought up to believe could possibly be incorrect) no one will EVER win this argument.

If you are patient, every once in a while someone will actually ask a good question. That would be a question that causes you to go back to the Bible and research the answer. I enjoy the opportunity to try and express a logical, well thought out, biblical response. This helps me when I am in conversation with others around me on a daily basis. Whatever they ask me about the Bible, often times I've already heard the question on this forum, and have formulated a Biblical response.
1 Peter 3:15 (New King James Version)
=============================
But sanctify the Lord God[a] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

I think to convert someone takes alot of time, time thinking about the all that surrounds the religion, what appeals to you. But to try to corvert someone in a text measage is pointless, i if called apon just try to put questions in peoples heads that will push them to find a logical answer and question there beliefs if good or not

Personally I don't like it when either tries to convert either. Asking questions about another's beliefs invites an explanation but not a sermon. In all honesty can you really take someone seriously if they try to convert you over the internet?

It's just one more place to spar verbally. I don't plan to convert anyone, and I really doubt the Atheists are trying to convert you, either. If we all believed the same thing, what would we argue and debate about? Life would be awful darn boring if we all got along and agreed about everything. Vive la difference!

yes, we all want to be reassured that what we have been told is believed by others. Does this somehow involve a way to emerse new believers in a spiritual Babtism? No, because Jesus says we must be washed in his living waters to be considered his. Just as the Lepers had to bathe, so do we, to make the link complete.

I'm a believer and I come on here simply to help others who may be seeking the Truth. I don't have a hidden agenda to convert anyone. If it happens great but if not I'm OK. I trust God will send me anyone whom He knows I can help. I just don't go looking for it.

Different people come here for different reasons. I don't think all believers come here to convert anyone.
Some believers like me just come in here to answer questions.
If anyone wants a battle of wills, they can have it with themselves.

In my philosophy, you will find the truth when you are ready, no matter what I do. I try to ask questions or make comments that might make some people think. Unfortunately this is a losing battle with christians
