Like everyone else I would say call the police, but in some states anyone over 16 is considered legal. I would go to your neighbor and put the fear of god in him. As far as your daughter, maybe some counseling? Because a 17 yr old doesn't need to be with a 35 year old man. Good Luck!

first of all, thats statutory rape. and by a long shot. this issue certainly need serious action. i cant even imagine how angry/upset/disappointed id be if i found out my underage child was sleeping with a full-grown man. i wish i could give you a cut and dry answer, but this is something you need to decide for yourself since you know your daughter and neighbor better than anyone on yahoo does. i will say that this problem can not go without some sort of action. being passive will give both daughter and neighbor the impression that what they did was ok, and that you dont mind, which i dont believe is the truth.

She is old enough to consent, therefore, it is not considered statutory rape. Take her to the doctor and put her on birth control pills asap. If you prohibit the relationship, they will do it more, therefore try to invite him over and talk about the situation as adults. Find out how serious he is with the relationship so your daughter can see if the guy is worth it. Maybe you can have him meet you and your daughter at HIS home where you can inquire about the relationship and if you feel uncomfortable you have the option to leave, rather than having him over your house and then trying to get him to leave. That is a technique used in business deals so you have the opportunity to get up and leave whenever you feel like it. Get closer to your daughter and help her realize that the guy is too old for her, that she has a whole life in front of her and will go out with much younger guys as soon as she starts college. This is a fling, just that, however, during this stage the best you can do is have your enemy close rather than pushing him away... Confront him with the situation in front of your daughter so she can see for herself he is not serious about this relationship. I hope this works for you!

OH! my godness! what i am hearing. How can this happen, and how u allow her. And ur daughter doesnt have a little shame. Go home and just slap her out, and if possible slap that 35 years old dad too. And make them relize what they r doing is disgusting dear. That's totaly illegal, and that dad age man is doing a kind of rape. Be aware, otherwise it will be too late to control the situation. If possible do a case. Ur daugher will not be harmed , TAke care.

you cant stop her from doing what she is going to do. tossing him in jail will just make her go find someone else. about the only thing you can do as a responsible parent is to put her on birth control. preferably the depo shot. its $100 dollars a shot every 3 months. $400 a year is a lot cheaper than raising a child, i know this from experience! i'm a grandmother of 2. the first was born when my daughter was 17.

call the police, that's going to cause serious problems, my bro was 17 and he started mackin a girl 18 yrs older then him, the lady who was volunteering with the church youth group. Now they're married and they're is so many problems she causes, it's as if she has to have conflict in her life, I'm not even just saying that cuz i have problems, i was cool with her before. But yea, it's not right, yoru daughter is too young to see what's the real deal. Do something about it before it gets worse. What the hell, is she going to do, what her age groups does and what his does is totally different, she probably is looking for father figure

Call the police and put an restraining order on him, so he has to stay thousand ft from your daughter. At the same time put your daughter in an after school program or get a part- time job. This should occupy her time keep her busy and away from him. At the same time let whoever is in charge know what is going on. So that they can help keep him away from her or call the cops if he comes around. She may hate you for it, but in the end she may start to go out with guys her age. P.S. Please start her on birth control.

diane: If you are in Canada, the legal age for a man or woman to bed down a member of the opposite sex is 14 years ( the government is now, trying to raise the age to 16 ) ! You are out of luck if you are a Canadian parent. If you are American, living in the U.S., you can have the guy charged since your daughter is under legal age of consent. Call in the cops and have the guy arrested and charged. Your daughter is going to go to war with you but - she is too young to realize that the guy is only, using her to scratch an itch with, ( and has no intention of staying with her, over the long haul) ! You are obviously, a single parent and have one tough "row to hoe" concerning parenting and provider. I hope your daughter realizes that there are lots of guys out there, who want only one thing and decides to have fun another way. Good luck to you.

I think you should talk to your daughter and explain to her about sex and the effectsa nd etc... second of all have the next door neihbor banned from the house at all costs and have police notified and keep him a distance away from your daughter for her protection in the future.... he coul dbe crazy and get her pregnant and then things would be going hectic!! I would definitly call police and have him banned from coming to house and change phone lines nunber etc whatever you need to do to keep them apart..

Lock your daughter in her room until she is 80 and too old to do anything like that anymore. I don't think you can really get the neighbor in trouble since she is 17. Hmmmm.....
Move to a different state!
