Do you mean that you are running a pirated XP? Well, I used to have one until a month ago. Its not that bad, but there are many security lapses, of course. I am now using genuine XP Pro now, and its much better. Moreover, you cannot also get any of the new Microsoft products, like Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Defender or WMP 11. Still, if you cannot afford a genuine XP, then the pirated one is OK. By the way, a free and open source Operating System called Ubuntu is available over the net. My friend says its pretty good, and has all the basics of XP Home edition. You may like to have it.

Is the computer from Dell ? , HP Compaq, a name brand ? if so you won't get a set of windows Xp disk. You will have to create the disk yourself. computer companys wont give you recovery disk with your new computer , But if you want a set There is a program they include in your pc to make the disk. Go to start button go to all programs, Look for tools and recovery cd/dvd, depending on the pc is how many disk you will need, If you burn cd set a 20 pack data disk will work. If you have DVD burner 1 DVD will work..hope this helps you Why do you think it is not genuine windows ? did you try to get an up date from Microsoft and it told you it wasnt,
