I spent alot of time with him when I first got Pebbles.. He is still scared of me sometimes but I assume it is because he is still young. One of the best ways is too hand feed your birds. Pebbles still wont eat from my hand but I am working on it. I also let them sleep in my bedroom so they feel safe with me.

Good luck to you and Caroline!

first you should make them like you. Go to any pet shop or any walmart and you can find pillet spray and feet it to them with your hand after few weeke hold the pillet spray with other hand and make the bird come on your finger to reach it. If you do that they will know that you wont hurt them. After that place your finger near their legs and say step-up and when they get on your finger treat them with millet spray. Try this it might work with your parakeets because it worked with my parakeets.

i trained my sun conure to eat from my mouth the first day i had him, most birds only have a 5 to 10 minute attention span, so to train your bird you have to work with them every day and only have one person train them other wise it confuses them on what to do, afterwards anyone can do it, as to hand train them, you have to slowly work up to it till they trust you. i even walk outside on nice days with mine on my shoulder. good luck
