Hay I'm a black beautician and here r my suggestions. I say find yourself a good hairstylist that specializes in hair care and growth. If you're cheap than here is the do it yourself remedy. You need to maintain a good healthy diets, eat yellow and green fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water and ANYTHING that has to do with the B vitamin. Hay and If you're near a GNC go and purchase Biontin 2500mg they should run u around $16w/taxes.
U should also wrap your hair instead of applying heat. I shampoo my hair every thursday, apply a deep conditioner, rinse, let my hair air dry NOT blow dry, flat iron , and wrap everynight with a silk or satin scarf, I do not apply heat that much and I keep moisture on my scalp. Hay it really works but hair does'nt grow overnight. so give it time and let it process. Make sure you trim your hair when need and if you have colored hair make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. A good product would be Kera Care: 1st Lather, conditioning cleansing shampoo, 5 in1 conditioner, hay how about you just write me and give me a briefing on your hair so that I can recommend u something.

Believe it or not, hair has a memory! It grows quickly and then grows very slowly when it reaches the length it's used to. The best way to grow hair is to leave it natural and eat healthy and get it trimmed regularly, but u have hard to manage hair which is afro and would not really grow long but out, but i suggest getting it permanently straightened anyway as it makes ure hair look longer even though it breaks ure hair, ask ure hairdresser for good shampoo's and creams and stuff for straightened hair, and trust me! It will look healthy and straight too!

1. be very gentle with your hair .dont comb or brush it in a hurry our hair is very fragile.
2).for the period that you are trying to achieve your desired length try to keep it braided.i do not recommend a weave or a wig these are not good for your hairline.try individual braids and make sure there is enough hair in each braid to support the human hair or synthetic hair that you (should )use to make them.the parting at the base should not be too small in comparison to the size of braids.there should be enough hair to support the weight of the braid .keep them in for at least 4 months each time. shampoo and condition your hair and wait about a week and do the braids again.it takes patience.
3)when your hair grows long ,to shampoo be gentle and do not do it too many times. once a week is just fine.first, oil it the day before,to shampoo, make 4 large braids and undo each braid, one at a time, shampoo, comb through and redo.do this one by one. continue for the other three combing through each time with a large toothed comb before braiding.follow with conditioner and again undo ,apply conditioner and re do each braid one by one and then wait as specified with the particular conditioner you are using.after that undo them all and use the comb to comb through distributing the conditioner further all through your hair very gently and then rinse .at this point dont put too much tension on the hair.its even more fragile when its wet.
4)avoid heat and excessive friction on your hair
i hope this helps i am black too and most people think i am wearing a weave because my hair is so long.it hasnt always been like this.i am almost 30yrs old and i ve learnt to be patient and gentle on my hair unlike the days i used to comb and brush it several times a day. it has payed off.also its important to use a satin scarf when you go to bed at night.my hair is relaxed.i make sure to use regular strength relaxer and to retouch it every six weeks when i dont have braids.do not over process or under process your hair this will cause it to break.do not overlap and condition everytime you shampoo.
these are my secrets i hope they help.there isnt any one miracle product that will make your hair grow dont fall victim to marketing lies.

my hair grows really fast as it is, but something that is vital to your hair growing fast is limiting hot appliance use. I once had a perm done to make my hair curly and everyday I put gel in it and I never blow dryed it or anything and about 3 months later my hair was seriously long like grew like 6 inches.

get blow outs or chem straighteners....this will make your hair look longer. i am white but have coarse thick curly hair and this makes my hair look longer. take prenatal vitamins and drink tons of water...this will help it grow. what ever you do --- do not get extensions!!! this will RUIN your hair. i have a black girlfriend and she swears by the blowouts. a good one can last up to a week or so....they have to blow dry and use the iron though for it to really work. chem straightener will help but it doesn't keep it perfectly straight...just adds processing to your hair, like a perm so be careful with promises they make. check your area for an ouidad salon. they specialize in curly hair so the products are the BEST -- no kidding -- or check out the ouidad web site for more info.....good luck!

i am bi-racial arab and black and all the black girls tell me "i got that good hair!" lol well my hair used to have that problem too growing very slowly...now i wrap my hair everynight so it wont break off, i dont use too much gel, i take hair vitamins from wal-mart, i also get it trimmed ( i no i didn't ever want to trim my hair but its actually worth it i SWEAR) oh and be patient and weaves that are sewn in improperly damage your hair and if i were you wear it natural because youuu should be proud and once it grows out your going to be TOTALLY happy

maybe you should use hair repair treatments and for the time being just put it up or keep it natural and don't do anything to it for the time being just so that it can repair and grow out without any split ends or breakage. trust me, the last thingn you want is for your hair to be long, but looking damaged.
