Tell him if he doesn't quit his gang life that you will leave him. There's no other way. He has to see the light at the end of the tunnel himself. The only way for him to have a girlfriend is to have a girlfriend who is part of the gang. If you're not down for that kind of thing you shouldn't be dating him in the first place.

People who are in gangs are usually lacking the feeling of acceptance from a loved one or society and they find that in a gang along with others who feel that way. You can explain to your man that you're not going to put up with someone who's going to be in a gang and if he doesn't change his ways you're done. Do this in a nice manner, you don't want him to bring his attitude from his gang into your conversation!!!

Sounds to me like he may be in for a lot of challenges both long term and short term....so long as he lives! A lot of it depends on what type of neighborhood you live in as well. In my neighborhood, we got kids who try and act like they know all about the thug life...but in fact they are just mimicking what they have seen in the media. If you guys live in an area that really does have legitimate gangs..the most you can do for him is pray that he sees the light before it is too late. There is so much more to life than being hard, being feared and slinging dope. You need to let him know that you love him but you are unwilling to settle with someone who gambles with dying or going to the penn. You really need to decide whether you are willing to live this lifestyle. I wish you luck and God's will, for him too. The world is so much bigger than his neighborhood.
Do the right thing for yourself...if he chooses to run hard...leave his @ss!!

Why would you have a boyfriend that's in a gang? This should be unacceptable to you. You should have stopped dating him the minute you found out.
You really need to understand yourself better. You should not be in this position. You put yourself there. Have respect for yourself. Show self respect by the people you date and are friends with.

You don't. He is going to do whatever he wants no matter what. He doesnt sound so smart to be in a gang anyway. I suggest you get the hell out of the relationship quick time before somthing bad happens.

Uh... this should be obvious.
If you are so foolish that you'd date someone who is a member of a gang in the first place, he is the least of your problems. Why on earth would you hitch your wagon to a loser who thinks it's a good idea to be in a gang? That's a serious mark of immaturity.

Find another guy! There are lots of nice ones out there that you dint have to change at all. He wants to be in a gang and probably nothing you can do to change that. If he did drop out his homies would probably tear him a new one! Let him be.

Get him to move to a new area where you two can start over. It would be hard and maybe impossible to leave a group and still be in the same neighborhood with them.

Do you hear yourself? Take care of YOU.You can only give him advice. If he cared he would care about you.He will learn the hard way.Dont go down with him or have him take you down or anyone that you love. Its his choice what he does with himself. Now do the right thing,,give him advice & then leave him.If he loves you,,he will follow.
