I just found out my mom was adopted and Im 32 years old. It is so crazy like a bad sope opera. My sister found out by accident we confronted her and she fessed up. It bothers me and my mom gets annoyed when I push for answers. It pisses me off that my grandfather, my angel (who was my best childhood friend and passed when I was 12) is not my blood. It doesn't change anything but I feel like it changed everything. My mom said she was never going to tell. Am I wrong to wonder? she says all records were lost in a fire. How do I get answers.She says she register when she was 19 and nobody contacted her. We are the picture perfect family you would never think there are skeletons in the closet. Her love as well as your grandfathers love- wasn't measured by blood. I loved my grandmother dearly- i was as well adopted. She wasnt my blood- but she was more family than i could ever hope to have. I lost her when i was 16.
In my biological parents papers- my biological mother lost both her parents- and my biological father denied me- so I would have never had grandparents- bioloigcally. I am so lucky to have been adopted. And honestly- it's hard to look at it like that anymore- if my children one day ever ask- i won't lie- but i probably won't volunteer that information either.
