I have not been able to sleep much anymore at night. I will lay in bed at night with the tv off for an hour and still not feel sleepy and it will be 12 am.

I have tried going to lay down earlier, music, and tonight i am trying camomile tea.

This has been going on for weeks on end and it just keeps getting worse

While I may not be able to offer much to assist you with sleeping I hope to stress that you CAN make a habit of it. To lay there for hours or watch TV from the bed can have disastrous long term results. If you cannot sleep after 10 - 15 minutes you should leave the bedroom to do something different. After time you begin to feel drowsy and then it's time to head off to bed. If the situation repeats then once again leave the bedroom.

You need to take some time to figure out what might be causing this. What triggered it to begin with? Anything bothering you? Change in health?

Sometimes stress will affect our sleep habits. Often, we need to not think about it, because that become the problem when we are worried we won't sleep--and then we don't.

If you cannot get to sleep within the first 15-20 minutes, don't lay there and toss. Get up, read, do something that isn't stimulating like watching TV. Camomile tea is good, so is warm milk. Make sure you don't eat before bed or exercise within a couple of hours before bed. Your room should be dark, this includes no digital clock, phone or lights on. Noise should be kept to a minimum. Your room should be a comfortable temp, not too cold or too hot.

Taking a nice relaxing bath can help, put in some lavender oil too, which is very relaxing. Don't have any cafeine after noon. Eat healthy foods, limit fats, don't over eat.

actually this last week or so I've been having the same problem. For me at least, taking a warm shower sometimes helps. It's crazy though. Sometimes my mindset is on sleep mode and my body is ready to do pushups or something. Then sometimes I am tired as can be, but my mind keeps wandering. I don't know what it is. Previously I use to go to the gym. In t he last few weeks I kind of got lazy, maybe that's the problem-need to burn some energy.

What time do you wake up in the morning? Hopefully you are getting only about 8 hours of sleep each night. Also, try not to exercise right before trying to settle down for the night.

There are really so many reasons for not being able to sleep at night, but your description is quite vague...

I usually am able to sleep really easily when the tv and lights are on. I fall asleep a lot faster than lights and tv off, you should try it sometime and see if it helps.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

HAVE YOU BEEN CHECKED BY A DOCTOR TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY UNDERLAYING PROBLEMS. TRY TO GET ALOT OF EXERCISE. TAKE A LONG WALK IN THE EVENING
OR DO EXERCISES THAT ARE TIRING AND GOOD FOR YOU TO. GOOD LUCK, I HOPE YOU DON'T END UP ON SLEEPING PILLS LIKE I DID.
