I drink at least a pot a day, sometimes two on the weekends. I'd like to get that down to a cup if at all possible?

Are you addicted to just the caffeine or also to the taste/ritual of drinking it? While I was able to gradually decrease caffeine by swithing to 25% decaf, then 50% decaf, and so on... it was even harder to quit drinking it altogether because I loved the taste and the social aspect. I also like hot drinks better than cold drinks.

You can try some hot teas, they have lower caffeine. There are some coffee substitues that are chicory or barley based, found in health food stores. They arent perfect taste match, but may be worth a try.

If you like the energy of caffeine, try drinking Yerba Mate tea... you drink it hot and it gives a nice natural boost without the side effects of caffeine.

That is a lot of coffee. You will need to slowly limit yourself. Start by cutting back on a cup or two a day and work your way down. If you stop cold turkey, you will have withdrawal symptoms; horrible headaches, crankiness, etc.

It is an addiction to the caffeine that you need to wien yourself off of it. Try substituting water, juice, green tea.

cut back a cup a day...or even a cup every other day. When you cut back slowly you will notice the withdrawal less.
