Your best bet is to buy a good diabetic cookbook. Sometimes the carbs are a little high in the recipes, but overall they are really healthy.

You don't have to eliminate carbs to lose weight. The most effective way to lose weight is to exersise regularily, and eat healthy.

You see, you probably will lose weight on a low carb diet, and you'll see results over time. But then, when your satisfied with how you are, you'll eventually HAVE to eat carbs sometime in your life. Then you'll most likely gain twice as much weight than what you started off with.

This is why I suggest you exersise to get a toned body (which will make you look great, and will burn more calories for you throughout the day) And you should eat a healthy balanced diet, eating junk food just once in a while.

You really shouldn't do fab diets such as low carbs and low fats. The low carb especially, since when you deprive yourself of carbs for a long period of time, your metabolism might not be able to digest carbs again, and excessive weight gain might be on it's way.

I know how you feel since I've done the carb, too, and I believe it was perfect for myself. However, you'll eventually be bored with it. And you might suffer some serious side effects such as exhaustion and muscle spasms when you sleep.

However, if you feel like this is the diet for you, Atkins is actually well known for the whole low carb scenario. You should really check out the website to see all kinds of foods you're allowed to eat, and i'm sure they have quite a number of recipes.

Your best bet would be to not be on a low carb diet, to begin with. Your body gets its energy from two different sources: carbs, and fat. Obviously carbohydrates are the healthier option.. Many nutritionists say that the low carb diet is unhealthy and unnecessary. You don't need to cut out carbs, nor do you need to eat LESS than you do now; you should just replace it with healthier foods, like vegetables, fruits, etc. Also, add a bit of exersize into your daily routine, like walking a mile a day, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

A low fat/low calorie diet is normally better for all people. Low carb diets are just not rational. How can you lose weight by eating only fat. What you really lose is muscle mass and tone, sure you might be lighter, but not healthier. Definately not healthier, high fat diets can cause heart problems. I would reconcider your diet options, if you really want to lose weight and be healthy.

Try to get information from a book about glycemic index. This will show you how to eat correctly and chose the right /good carbs. No/low carbs are a bad deal. Just eat healthy, use free weights/body exercise and cardio.

I am also on a natural and healthy weight loss plan and I have had great success as I have lost 30 pounds in just over 40 days. I did not skip meals or have to buy or eat special foods and I absolutely love the vanilla ice cream flavored shakes that you drink a couple of times a day with this plan. When I eat I choose healthy. Grilled / Broiled vs fried, veggies, fruit, salads, and I have cut out caffeine and started drinking a natural and healthy energy drink as well and it has made a tremendous difference in my energy and in my health. Best of luck to you and I know you can do it because I am doing it and I am 45.

I have heard of this fat smash diet that I am going to try. My friend did it and lost 16 pounds in 9 days. I will keep you posted on my progress and see if it really works, but it is a no carb diet.

I did a more relaxed version of Atkins - lost 25 lbs. NO carbs was just too tough. Started walking 30 minutes a day....the weight came off much faster. Also, try a hambuger on the barbeque (with all the toppings..mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, cheese) but minus the bun. Good luck.
