I'm working to start one for people who lose communication skills after brain injury from stroke or head trauma. Need all the help we can get. Its not an issue most people have heard of and those with it obviously have problems advocating for themselves. There are already so many charities for hunger, children, animals, etc. This is a very underserved population.

A charity funded strictly for transportation for disabled and elderly to get to the doctors, cancer treatment, hair appointments,etc...There is a huge need out here for that.My mother has 2 forms of cancer.I have had five strokes and somedays I can't walk.We have been searching for a year for transportation for her.I take her now,but I should not be driving. We have no other choice.A cab is $40 each way.Senior services charge $16 an hour with a minimum of 4 hours. That's $64.I have no income and she cannot afford those prices. The other transportation groups only charge $2.50 each way,but they are booked up and we are just out of luck.We missed 1 chemotherapy appointment, and they had mixed the drugs already. It was $4000.00.They wanted us to pay for it.With what? This really is a big need. She starts radiation now,it will be 5 days a week,40 minutes each way,for fifteen minutes of treatment. If you are starting a charity, please consider this,it would help SO many people.Thankyou.

There needs to be a charity for healthcare workers who need uniforms, good shoes, and licensing/certification fees. I have known many nurses and aides who were qualified to work but couldn't because they couldn't afford these items.
