Hi there...consider using a wire loom, which is very inexpensive: http://cableorganizer.com/wire-loom/colored.html . Not only does it bundle all the wires within the loom, but tidies up the room too. For wires that cannot be bundled consider using Granick's Bitter Apple spray which is a safe deterrent for pets: http://www.grannicks.com/

There's a plastic conduit especially made and designed to bundle computer and other wires together inside it. The consuit looks like a fat hose with accordion-like surface for easy strecthing and manipulating. It makes the back of your desk not only neater but safer for overly playful pets and kids. You simply slip the wires in it. It is very inexpensive and you can get it from the hardware. Your cat will wonder where all the interesting wires had gone.

My cats have continuously been very reliable about studying NO and a really reliable squirt with the water bottle. they commonly provide up even attempting by ability of about 4 months. for truly obdurate circumstances, wrap cords in tinfoil. it really is likewise a reliable idea to maintain free wires certain at the same time- makes them a lot less perfect. i have were given raised a outstanding kind of kittens and that all of them learn NO and the squirt bottle at an early age. If the kitten although does it, squirt and NO decrease decrease back, and then use distraction: play another position with the kit for awhile. None of my 6 cats are even in contact interior the cords anymore. probable the kitten needs a pal. 2 kittens are better perfect than one.

First try and put the wires out of sight if at all possible and also give the Kitty something else to play with to. Like a ball of yarn or a jingle ball or a catnip mouse . Even a string tied to a stick hanging from something secure is a distaction for kitty . Good luck and enjoy your kitty .

Get an empty coffee can (the metal kind) and put some change in it. When your kitty heads for the area with the wires, shake the can. The noise should distract kitty, and kitty should start to associate the loud scary noise with that area.
This also works for scratching and other bad kitty behavior.

When my 16 yr old cat Shelby was a kitten, i had the same problems. My solution was to rub Tobasco Hot Sauce on the wires--- after a few attempts, Shelby swore off the wires- she hated the smell (tho I did not smell it) and hated the taste.

I heard that rubbing plain old vinegar on the area your cat is chewing or urinating on will keep it away. Cats and dogs hate the smell of vinegar and will avoid it like the plague. Also, the pet store should carry a "bitter apple" spray that works just as well to keep cats and dogs away from a specific area.
Usually, putty cats are very good to me and don't chew on things...(wink wink)

i dont have a cat, but my puppy did the same thing. i thought the sauce was too messy, so instead i just got some clear packing tape and taped everything against the wall or undear desks trying to hide them, and make them unreachable by my pup. with them taped down, he thinks they just disapeared or blended into the wall. its also nice cus i dont have wires always hanging around and being annoying.

Easy, keep the door to your room closed at all times, and don't let the cat in there. Lay out some catnip toys in another room to occupy the cat. Trust me, he'll get over it.

Coat the wires with a coating of hot pepper oil on a paper towel. It should discourage the kitten from doing this.Make sure you wash your hands very good afterwards
