you really don't have much choice. it is gonna take some kind of heat to get the curls out. I have extremely curly hair and get my curls out every day.

any flat iron from any hairdresser place is more likely to have real ceramic or contain more ceramic which will make your hair flat straight. A bit pricey but it works. I have thick wavy hair, and it makes my hair look naturally sleek.
