i'm actually getting my ribs done soon. i've been a little paranoid about the pain. i have my back tattooed and i'm a skinny guy and i have my fingers tattooed as well. they're sometimes considered painful spots. they weren't too bad at all tho, so i think i should be okay with my ribs. i'm getting a huge piece tho, from right under my armpit down to my hip. i think you'll do fine because i've tattooed girls on their ribs and they seem to do so much better than guys. girls have a higher pain tolerance than most men. they are the bearer or children after all.
anyway, back on track..i personally think rib tattoos look great and you're idea is really cool and especially because i'm sure it means something to you. anyway good luck!

Yes i have one huge one which i had for 9 grueling hours. The pain was crazy trust me. If its your first time trust me don't get it at your rib cage. It was my first time and i got a huge one at my rib cage and it was a mistake because i felt like dying haha. And to add to that i was having a fever. It was bad but my boyfriend was there to console me. Bring a friend or something but rib cage is definitely one of the last places you should get it at. Get more experience at other places first or something. I screamed for a whole 5 hours when he was doing the wings and it damn hurt. I took a lot of breaks and it really wastes your money because they count by the hour. Soooo bear in mind.. It hurts.!

i dont have but i always wanted to get one and u think they look so cool. The only thing i know about that is that the ribs are one of the most painful places to get a tattoo. But otherwise i say go for it.

I have a rather large piece on one side of my ribs, and I absolutely love it!
However, it was the most painful tattoo I have ever gotten.

every shirt is going to be a hassle when it comes to a ribcage tattoo because its the lifting your arms up to take whatever shirt you are wearing on or off that hurts the most. I like to wear tube tops/sleeveless tank tops when I get back/chest/shoulder/rib work because you can roll the tube top up or down in either direction. Whats also great about a tube top....is when you want to take it off....it is far less painfull to just roll it down over your pants than to pull it off over your head!!!

I'm not into tattoos. I certainly avoid girls with tats. They might seem ok at the moment but styles change ... and they can look really tacky next year. Get a t-shirt. When it goes out of style ... get another.
