Playing outside! Always better to go outside! Only the stupid Cyclopses think it's a good idea to come in! Except, of course, when they fill the food bowl....

If you value the life of your cat inside is the best place for it. There are too many dangers outside and therefore inside cats live longer. Your cat is like a 2 year old and does not know what is good for them, but if you have plenty of toys and interaction the cat would be just fine inside, if not better.

They should be able to stay inside and play. That way they will be safe from hazards, and they won't get fat. There are a lot of interesting toys for your cat to use alone, toys that you use to play with him, climbing trees. There is no reason for an indoor cat to be a bored and inactive cat. It just takes a thoughtful owner to provide the pet with the best quality of life.

That depends on the weather.
Right now, it's cold and there is freezing rain, so I bask in the glow of my computer monitor. But if I were in, say, Maui, I'd be outside right now :)

cats are heaps safer kept inside. Too many danger outside: cars, other animals, nasty people, poisonous plants... if you like them to enjoy some outside experience now and again, you need to be able to control where they go (enclosure, halter and leash, supervised outing).
