I have posted a question earlier on stretching. Well, since I have been stretching for awhile now I am looking for some variety. Can anyone refer me to a great book on stretching which has hundreds (or at least alot) of stretching exercises for each area and also has clear instructions on executing each one.

Thanks.

I would recommend John Scott's book, Ashtanga Yoga. It is 136 pages, full color. While it is not a traditional book of stretches I have found that the poses that yoga offers provide a better stretch and also work on improving balance at the same time. Some people express concerns about starting yoga, thinking that it's too complex, but for beginners there are dozens of poses that offer a great stretch without overtaxing the individual. Scott's Ashtanga Yoga provides easy to understand step-by-step instructions with photos for each pose. I am a competitive swimmer and bicycle racer, as well as a Cooper Institute certified trainer, I would recommend this for anyone wishing to improve his/her flexibility.

I have had a bad back for a while, and this book really helped me. The cover didn't seem to be what I was looking for, but it has tons of stretches, and they are very easy to do and learn. I was sick and tired of not being able to figure out what they were trying to tell me to do. This one makes it very easy. It is called, Stretching Scientifically, you can see it here. http://www.amazon.com/Stretching-Scientifically-Flexibility-Training-Revision/dp/0940149451/sr=1-3/qid=1165413069/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/102-2826545-6885762?ie=UTF8&s=booksinsuranceforu-20
