Getting closer to God. Maybe by reading the bible more. Praying. Understanding that sin destroys you. Its a lose lose situation. God see's everything, and it's important that you do what you can to get rid of it. But don't rely totally on yourself, rely on Jesus, and the strength that he brings.

Are you a born again Christian? Because God only hears prayers of believers.

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Pray and confess it to God, he already knows what it is that you are having problems with, He knows everything, so don't hold back. Keep in the word, if you get into filling yourself up with God's word, your faith and strength will grow strong. Ask other Christians for help and go to church.

It's like a baby learning to walk, if you fall down, get back up. Soon you will stay up.

If think many times we forget one of the greatest tools God has given us to fight Satan. That is our fellow Christians. So often we are so ashamed of a particular sin that we want to hide it so noone will know of it. That is the worst thing we can do if we find ourselves unable to overcome a "favorite" sin. Accountability is essential in these cases. Find a close Christian friend who you can confide in that will honor your privacy and confess to him your sin as you confess it to the Father. And then give your Christian friend the responsibility to hold you accountable for your commitment to overcome it. Tell him you expect him to ask regularly about your struggle and help you non judgmentally with overcoming it. If you know someone knows and will be involved in holding you to your commitment to overcome it you will be empowered.

not sure everyone does but if there is one u want to leave behind (that's crucial) and need help, then state it in prayer like that, I can not do this on my own please help. You may revert back but pray again and each time u will be given more power until it no longer has a hold on you. It works better and faster if you have something to replace into that void.

We call that a "besetting" sin. The only way is:

1) Prayer

2) Regular Confession

3) Sometimes fasting.

It's tough. But, it will set you free!!

Just pray "Jesus, I don't want to die lost and go to a devil's hell. Would you please forgive me of ALL my sins and wash them clean under your precious blood that was shed for me on Calvary? Give me a new mind, a new heart, a new mouth and new desires to live a clean pure holy life in You so I can be with you in Heaven eternally."
Amen.

My favorite sin is removing the "Do Not Remove" tags off pillows.

I take prescription medication to help combat this particular obsession.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Don't go where you know your temptation is and if you find yourself there run away. Pray and ask God to deliver you from your temptation for this sin and read His word to find guidance and strength.
