Why is blind faith the only way to recieve God's blessing? Doesn't blind faith pretty much mean that you accepted what ever people told you? How is that faith in God?
The way I see it, no one really has faith in God. I don't say that to offend though knowing people, I probably did, oh well. People have faith in the nature of God as presented by men. They have faith in the Bible, written by men who can only claim divine inspiration. Even if the books are written by the will of God, the Bible is a creation of men. The church looked through the lists of texts and decided what we would read, and hid the rest. Don't believe me? Try walking into the vaults of the Vatican and make it out alive...
What does blind faith prove above seeing God with our own eyes?
After all, didn't Thomas say he had to put his fingers in Christ's wounds before he'd believe? And didn't Jesus let him. Sure, those who have not seen and yet believe are blessed, but if we want to see, are we damned?

I just mean that if Satan is so smart, and back then the chosen diciples didn't understand him, is it really a good idea to think that we have all of our ducks in a row as far as our beliefs? Isn't it possible that after 2000 years, maybe something have been missinterperated? Shouldn't we be questioning what we're told instead of adamantly holding on?

I don't understand where the idea came from that Christians are to have BLIND faith in God. It sure didn't come from the Bible. Every day across our nation men are convicted or set free on eye witness accounts. The judge wasn't there nor the jury. A credible witness though takes the stand and states what he saw. The jury then puts their faith in the words of this witness and decides the fate of the accused.

That is exactly the type of faith we have as Christians. We have eye witness accounts from credible witnesses who have written about the words they have heard from Jesus, the miracles they witnessed Him perform, His death on the cross, and His resurrection three days later.

Why do we call this blind faith? It wasn't blind faith in the court of law.

If you want to see, you are not damned. I'm sure that all real Christians want to see God...not because they don't believe, but because they long to be face to face with the Almighty One.

Furthermore the bible does not condemn asking questions and investigating. In fact, the bible anticipates it, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: " 1 Pet 3:15

Moreover, there is nothing wrong with searching for evidence because what does the bible say about faith, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen " Heb 11:1. There is substance in this faith, not a blind belief. This faith allows a person to give themselves to Christ without looking back.

In 2000 years, the bible has not changed, nor has the interpretations. Of course someone can say, aren't there certain disagreements among the denominations. Sure, on small matter, yes. However, all denominations believe that they are all united in Christ Jesus, brothers and sisters. The small things don't take away from the big picture.

Everyone is given a measure of faith to believe, but once you step out on that faith, it's not blind anymore. It's AMAZING what God will show in the life of a believer once you've taken that first step, but He's a gentleman, and always allows US the choice to make the first step of whether or not we will allow Him into our life. You Haven't offended me, friend, I completely get where you're coming from. We, as believers, were ALL where you are at one time.....BTW, catholicism is not a good representation of Christianity. I was raised a catholic, and never 1 time did I hear the Gospel in 28yrs before I became a Christian. Please don't judge us all by the vatican. The answer is truly in the Word of God, through faith in Christ and Him alone.

Is it truly blind faith. The true aspiration of the texts is to motivate us to live in a way that gives us a long and healthy life. Can you find one commandment that makes life harder on us in the long run? also in some cases faith is based on miracles that are observed and/or experienced by the individual, is that blind faith? Finlay there is the aspect of the indwelling of the holy spirit. but yes in terms of scripture there is a need to have some blind faith. but as i said earlier the commandments all have a logical benefit to society (except those dealing with the worship of God but if the rest are good why not accept those as well?)

I am not offended by any question from one who is truly seeking as it seems you are. I hope you find some wisdom in the answers you receive.

Don't you think that if God was able to use men to WRITE the Bible that He could also give divine intervention to those who TRANSLATE the Bible as well? He is not going to let His Word be tampered with to the point that we can get the true meaning out of it. How ridiculous would it be for me to believe that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for my sins but didn't leave me an "instruction book" on what to do with that gift and my life after I receive the gift? Now that would be cruel.

It's a natural desire put inside us by God Himself to want to see him. For those of us who have faith here on earth He will say to us "welcome in my good and faithful servant." For those who refuse to believe because they need proof, well they will have it, but too late. Hindsight is 20/20. I pray you find that faith as the grain of mustard seed within you.

According to the Vedic literature only a fool follows blindly. One must sincerely inquire submissively and hear the Absolute Truth from someone who has seen the Absolute Truth and when they are fully satisfied with their answers then naturally they have faith. Actual faith is based on pure intelligence beyond the mind and senses. It is truth revealed and accepted. Not this so called mundane idea of fanaticism. for universal truths go to stephen-knapp.

The measure of faith or belief varies individually. It will all depends on how you acquired the faith. But only those who have pure heart will be convincingly believed in the existence of God.

So who is it that has "blind" faith? And what is "blind" faith? I'm sorry I have never read about that in the Bible. I think you have come up with a doctrine that no Christian really believes in so why should any Christian answer your question. Get your doctrine straight and then ask a sensible question.

Faith isn't blind--It allows you to see the power of God! And, No, you aren't damned if you want to see. Thomas wasn't, was he? Ask the Lord to show you whatever it is you feel you need to see. He will show you, if you are sincere. He loves you!

Doubting is healthy, and it's okay. You will go on doubting until you find the truth, and it might take all your life. Just remember whose name you call out when you're in agony. He is listening, and He still loves you very much.
