I don't mean to offend anyone by asking for believers only, but I need only people who believe in the bible to answer. I have a friend who has lived her life mostly the way she has wanted to live. She claims that it is too late for her. That God has given up on her. She did attend Church some and she does believe in God. What I need is scriptuals from the bible saying that it is not too late for her and that she can still ask God to be forgiven and can recieve that forgiveness.
Does God really give up on you as she claims? Does He at any time turn His back on you?
Can you seek forgiveness and recieve it?
Any answers would be of great help.
THANKS!

How can you, or any of us, receive forgiveness? A key is that Jehovah God is inclined to forgive. That is characteristic of his personality. (Exodus 34:6, 7; Psalm 86:5) Understandably, God expects us to turn to him in prayer and ask his pardon, ask that he forgive us. (2 Chronicles 6:21; Psalm 103:3, 10, 14) And he has arranged a legal basis for extending such forgiveness Jesus’ ransom sacrifice.

When we sin, we too may carry the crushing burden of a painful conscience as a result. This feeling of remorse is normal, even healthy. It can move us to take positive steps to correct our mistakes. Some Christians, though, have become overwhelmed by guilt. Their self-condemning heart might insist that God will not fully forgive them, no matter how repentant they are. “It is a terrible feeling when you think that Jehovah may not love you anymore,”

But that is not at all how Jehovah views matters! His Word assures us that when we manifest genuine heartfelt repentance, Jehovah is willing, yes ready, to forgive.

Why Is Jehovah “Ready to Forgive”?

Why is Jehovah disposed to show mercy? The verse answers: “For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:12-14) Yes, Jehovah does not forget that we are creatures of dust, having frailties, or weaknesses, as a result of imperfection. The expression that he knows “the formation of us” reminds us that the Bible likens Jehovah to a potter and us to the vessels he forms. (Jeremiah 18:2-6) A potter handles his clay vessels firmly yet delicately, ever mindful of their nature. So, too, Jehovah, the Great Potter, tempers his dealings with us according to the frailty of our sinful nature.

God has a required way for seeking and receiving his forgiveness. A person must acknowledge his sin, recognize that it is an offense against God, confess it unqualifiedly, have a deep heartfelt sorrow for the wrong done, and have a determination to turn from such a course or practice. He must do what he can to right the wrong or damage done. Then he must pray to God, asking for forgiveness on the basis of Christ’s ransom sacrifice.

Here are some scriptures
1) Matthew 6:6-12
2) Psalms 32:5
3) 1 John 2:1
4) James 5:14-16
5) John 3:16-18

These are some scriptures that show that God never gives up on us. That's the reason why Jehovah, out of concern for mankind's future, sent his Son, Jesus to pay the ransom that our first parent, Adam lost for us (to be counted righteous before God & to have our sins forgiven). We must not only believe that God exist, but have faith that He will answer our prayers if we are truly sincere.

I don't have scripture verses, but I wanted to answer just as someone who is a beleiver. I beleive that anyone at any time can be saved. Even if you already were once before. Anyone can rededicate their life to Christ. Even when that theif who hung right next to Jesus who lived his whole life stealing and so on was forgiven right before his death. He said to Jesus remember me in paradise, and Jesus said I will see you there or something like that, sorry for my lack of exact words. He never gave up on him. He was forgiven right before he died. It's not the works good or bad that hold you away from the Lord or put you in with the Lord. It's faith in him. So I know you're friend can still have all of his love. She just needs to turn to him and remember that she doesn't need to fix anything in her life first. That will come in time with a real true relationship with the Lord. It's not too late. God loves her tremendously. She mustn't be deceived by the enemy. That's what is happeneing to her right now. Satan is telling her it's too late and so on. He's a liar. God is there for her!

Isaiah 42:16
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

First of all, God will Never turn his back on you. It is often You who reject God by sinning and disobeying his word, then you'll find Him turning his back on you. But God LOVES us so much that he sends his only begotton Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins(John 3:16) and find forgiveness for our sins through the Christ. That is why no matter what sin you committed (murder, theif, adultry,etc), God will always forgive you if you go to Him and ask Him for forgiveness. Through Jesus Christ, it was possible that our sins could be forgiven, no matter how many times, or how big or small. Our savior have a unconditional love for us, and through Jesus Christ, you will recieve forgiveness. Tell your friend, it is NEVER too late!! Or God have GIVEN UP on her!! God is loving, fair, full of compassion, merciful, and slow to anger, that's why it is worth serving him. Tell your friend, to pray for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ and repent. Remember God is your friend and is always willing to listen to those who seek him. God will never stop forgiving you!!

First of all what a great friend she has in you. Thank God for your goodness.

God has never given up on me and I have not always made the right choices.

The best I would tell you is look in the Bible concordance for any of these referenced words: (New Testament scripture)

backsliding
forgiveness
mercy
regret

Seek and ye shall find. Reading releases the Holy Spirit for you and her. Look together for whenever two or more agree in his name . . . .

Really you are a good friend

God Bless

I believe that god does give up and turn his back on you as you said, for example: you prayed for some thing to happen and u prayed faithfully and hopefully for a long time but it didnt happen?
I dont think there is a way to find forgiveness if you don't believe God, like me, i just live the way that a person should live, and trust and believe in myself as long as i know that i can watch out for every step i take and i wont turn my back to myself and i wont let myself down for some reasons and i'll never give up on my self.
It is never too late to convert to any religion, but you will always guide yourself to become a better person if you try...or not.

God never turns away from those who believe in God and trust God. If one seeks forgivenss with a sincere heart and is truly repentant than God too is not a tyrant unto Gods slaves.

The Holy One is Gracious-Enough to pardon all the sins, committed during the time of ignorance. With such a generous invitation, the Lord is inviting the mankind to resort to the Lord. So those__ who are desirous to resort__ they should resort without any delay__ lest the Satan may render their whole life useless and fruitless. Beware please, death may approach at any time and disconnect the chain of life, all of a sudden.
SINCE GOD SAYS

“Call to Me when trouble comes;
I will save you,
And you will praise Me.”
(Psalms 50:15)

Only God helps, in times of tribulation, adversity and stress. so have patience and let not those who have no certainty make thee impatient. God AlMighty is not a tyrant unto Gods slaves and neitehr does God burdens any one beyond it scope.
so just relax, have faith and trust in God and keep praying. God Almighty will rescue you from all your troubles and in a twinkling of any eye bless with bountiful blessings. It's just a question of depending on God Alone and considering and accepting God Alone as your Guardian, Protecting Friend, Helper and Saviour. No one else is a helper or saviour besides the AlMighty One Alone God, the Lord of us all. so just hang onto God and don't seek to hasten anything, as God is the Hearer and Seer and God knows what is best and will bless you soon with joy. Just hold onto God.
confess that your Lord the Great AlMighty God is only All Able and if you confess and believe that, then seek refuge in God. Ask forgiveness of your sins and pray to God for all kinds of your problems. You will find your Lord Merciful and Kind.

GOD LOVES ALL John 3:16;

Rom.5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

ALL

1Cor.15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Pet.3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

ALL [ 2Cor.5:10; Philip.2:5,9-10 ALL Heb.9:27; ALL ];
